A bilingual creation-story publication, a gathering of Rangers and workshops led by Elders are among the local projects supported through the latest NSW Cultural Grants announcement.

On 26 August, the NSW Government named a $1.5 million program supporting 85 Aboriginal organisations. The projects cover language, storytelling, cultural practice and connections between generations.
One example, Maliyaangaa Ngurra, will publish the Eagles Nest Creation Story of the Marshes in Wayilwan and English, preserving culturally authorised knowledge connected with the Macquarie Marshes. Another project supports Elders and language teachers working with young people on Yuwaalaraay Country in Lightning Ridge.
The announced Aboriginal Rangers Gathering in Tamworth will provide a setting for teams from different regions to exchange ecological and cultural knowledge. Other funded activities include workshops and gatherings led by communities on their own Country.
The variety is the point. Language resources, cultural objects, shared practice and time with Elders are different ways communities can strengthen continuity, each shaped by local priorities.
The announcement lists examples rather than every activity or timetable. Its linked recipient list provides a route to exploring the organisations and projects in more detail.
