A familiar singing voice can open a door to another part of an artist’s practice. People who know Zaachariaha Fielding through Electric Fields now have a reason to learn more about his visual work.

The National NAIDOC Committee’s announcement, reported on Indigenous.gov.au on 15 June, names Fielding as the winner of the 2026 poster competition. His selected work is Paralpi. Fielding is a Yankunytjatjara man from the APY Lands in South Australia whose practice spans music and visual storytelling.
This year’s theme, 50 Years of Deadly, gives the poster a particular setting: a milestone celebration that looks across generations. The official account describes the work through movement, energy and continuity. Those are the committee’s published descriptions; readers can follow the original source to hear more about the selection.
The announcement says the poster is available to download through the NAIDOC website and is scheduled to reach Kmart and Target stores nationally from 18 June. That is a distribution plan announced today, rather than a claim that every store already has stock.
If displaying the poster at work or in a community space, include the artist’s name and the work’s title in the conversation. Recognition becomes more meaningful when the maker remains visible.
